Ingredients:250 grams paneer (cut into cubes)
1 medium-sized onion (cut into squares)
1 medium-sized bell pepper (cut into squares)
2 tablespoons oil (for marination)
2 tablespoons oil (for grilling)
2 tablespoons besan (gram flour)
2 tablespoons yogurt
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon chaat masala
Salt to taste
Skewers for grilling
For garnish:
Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
Lemon wedges
Chaat masala
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, add the besan, yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
Add the paneer cubes, onion squares, and bell pepper squares to the marinade. Gently toss everything together, ensuring the marinade coats all the pieces. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to an hour in the
refrigerator. The longer it marinates, the better the flavors will develop.
Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If using skewers, soak them in water for about 15 minutes to prevent them from burning.
Skewer the marinated paneer cubes, alternating with the onion and bell pepper squares. Repeat until all the ingredients are used.
Brush the skewered paneer tikka with oil to prevent sticking and promote even cooking.
Place the skewers on the preheated grill or on a baking tray if using the oven. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. The paneer should turn golden brown with some charred edges.
Once the paneer tikka is cooked, remove it from the grill or oven and transfer it to a serving plate.
Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle some chaat masala over the top. Squeeze some lemon juice for an extra tangy flavor.
Serve the paneer tikka hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or a side of yogurt.
Enjoy your homemade paneer tikka!
Note: You can also customize the marinade by adding other spices or ingredients according to your taste preferences. Additionally, if you don't have a grill or oven, you can cook the paneer tikka on a stovetop in a pan with a little oil.
